Chinese Cultural Festival 2012

This biennial celebration of Chinese culture will highlight Chinese musical tradition just in time for the Chinese New Year! This is your invitation to come and enjoy a diversity of Chinese culture with performances ranging from instrumental to opera to dance and featuring works for symphony, traditional Peking opera as well as modern Chinese vocal selections.

2012 Student Competition

The Bellingham Chinese Cultural Festival cordially invites students from North America to participate in a music performance competition. This new competition was established to honor exceptional student musicians who demonstrate how Chinese music has enriched their lives and the lives of others. We are looking for highly talented musicians who play a Chinese instrument or play Chinese music with a Western instrument.

Austin Huang, Ph.D.

Austin Huang started composing in 2007 and has since composed 10 pieces which have performed in both the US and China. He is an engineer and composer. Rigorous training in engineering has helped him tremendously in music composing and he sees many similarities between writing a dissertation and composing a concerto.
